W hen hiring managers look for the best and brightest, there are many sought after qualities that go well beyond your resume and cover letter. Here are some tips from our years of experience in hiring event professionals. PRESEnT A COnSISTEnT PERSOnAL BRAnD We have seen some resumes that truly stand out amongst the rest in terms of content, how they are written and their visual appeal. Although these resumes land on the top of the pile, we have been surprised when the interview day comes around. On paper, if you present yourself as energetic, passionate and resourceful, it's important to carry this through into the interview, otherwise it can become evident that your messaging and personal brand are not aligned. It's great to have a creative resume, but be ready to demonstrate this in the interview, bring solid examples and speak with passion. Know what type of role you are looking for. When we ask this question in our interview process, it is shocking how many answers deviate from the role in question. Do your research. Be sure to research the role you are applying for to ensure this is truly the right fit.
