chapter speaks hoW do You REChARGE to Get Back "Between pre-production and travel time and the event itself, there are long days with little sleep. It's the nature of being an event professional and I love it! My recharge routine has two phases: recover and re-energize. For recovery, it's sleep, walking the dog, catching up on favourite shows and ven tidy up. To reenergize, it's hiking, gardening, playing music and doing fun things with family and friends." - Stewart Hall, Founder, Rock the Stars on track? "Reading, face masks, TV and wine. :)" - Arianna McLaughlin, Event Manager, Deloitte "Exercising, socializing, reading and digitally disconnecting." - Helena Gomes, Owner/Principal Planner, Gomes & Co. "Put on my running shoes!" - Tim Whalen, CMP, Executive Meeting Manager, Fallsview Casino Resort "Walking the dog and hitting the gym." - Ellen Boddington, CMP, CMM, President & Owner, Stellar Conference & Event Management Inc. "Sleeping, spending time with family, sleeping, unplugging ... and did I mention sleeping?" - Joanne Langevin, CMP, Manager - Meetings & Events,The College of Family Physicians of Canada "I read once that when Bryan Adams comes off a concert tour, he spends a week in a London hotel (where he lives) to have some time alone to adjust back to a normal routine before going home to his family and obligations. I can relate to the value in that. I find returning home after an intense program can be very stressful. Being taken care of for a few days with no obligations or demands and just following my own whims is a great way to recharge." - Diane Julien, Owner & President, The Really Fabulous Event Co. 24 * MEETING | May/juNE 2016 | LINkEdIN: MPI ToroNTo ChaPTEr "Going to the gym, spending time outdoors, being with family and friends, sleeping in (if it's ever possible!), and turning off the Blackberry" - Mariella Irivarren, CMP, B.A., Event Manager, BMO Financial Group
