"I really enjoy the
variety of tasks I
get to do on a daily
basis. I am never
bored and get to
constantly learn
new things."

What My Association Does:
Our mission consists of three main
components: Education, Advocacy, and Public
Awareness. We provide quality continuing
education to chiropractors and their staff,
proudly advocate for the chiropractic
profession, and promote public awareness of
the benefits of chiropractic.
Number of Members:
650+
Staff Size:
4
What I Do:
I produce our weekly video segment Coffee
& Chiropractic, design and implement
public relations campaigns, write and edit
communication pieces, and recently I have
begun managing our educational events.
What I Like About My Job:
I really enjoy the variety of tasks I get to do
on a daily basis. I am never bored and get
to constantly learn new things. However, I
mainly love my job because of my amazing
co-workers. Heather and Sasha (and our

temp Dana) are basically my second family.
We have so much fun together, but we also
pull together as a team and accomplish some
pretty great things.
My Proudest Work/Life Moment:
My proudest work moment was last year at
our 2016 Fall Convention when I was given
the Woman of Chiropractic award. I was not
expecting this at all and it felt really good to
be recognized by my association.
One Piece of Advice for Someone New to
the Association World:
If you are coming from the private sector of
marketing or communications, realize that
this type of marketing is very different. I was
very naive and thought I could use the same
strategies and techniques that I had in my
previous job, but it wasn't quite that easy.
It is not exactly business-to-business and it
is not business-to-consumer, it is more of a
"dating game" where you have to constantly
prove your value, that you care, and that you
will be there when your members need you. If
you format your strategies with that thinking
you will see great results. z
