Valmet, Finland, has launched polyurethane roll covers for tissue machine press and suction press rolls. The new PressHusky and VacuHusky roll covers are designed especially for yankee press applications widely used in dry crepe tissue production. As an option, a Metso iRoll online nip profile measuring system can be applied with these new roll covers. Voith, Germany, reports that its TissueFlex XD press fabric for tissue production "has very good saturation for maximum dewatering." The fabric is produced with a lower caliper offering faster break-in times, allowing the machine to reach higher productivity sooner. At the same time, TissueFlex XD has a resilient structure, so that the key properties of the fabric are maintained over a long period. PEOPLE Atlas Paper Mills, Miami, FL, a producer of recycled fiber tissue products and a portfolio company of Peak Rock Capital LLC, has appointed Jim Brown CEO, succeeding Joe Tadeo, who left the company to pursue outside interests. Brown joins Atlas with more than 25 years of professional experience in paper packaging and related sectors, most recently serving as an EVP at Duro Bag Manufacturing Co. SCA, Stockholm, Sweden, announced that its CFO and EVP Lennart Persson will retire on July 1, 2014, after contributing to SCA's growth in a number of senior positions since 1987. Fredrik Rystedt will formally assume his position on July 1. Rystedt will become a member of SCA's Corporate Senior Management Team.
