feature RISI and TAPPI to Co-Produce Key Tissue Event of 2017 Save the date for the Tissue 2017 Conference Following the historic merger between PPI and Paper360° magazines at the beginning of 2016, TAPPI and RISI have taken their collaborative efforts one step further. These two industry-leading organizations have joined forces to produce the new Tissue 2017 Conference and Expo October 3-6 in Miami at the Eden Roc Resort. The conference will cover all aspects of the tissue industry. Expected attendees include senior executives and mill operations management from major tissue manufacturers, financial analysts and investors, as well as leading machine, chemical, and process suppliers. The conference will feature multiple sessions that offer insight into many areas of the tissue industry. Expect the program to include: * An executive panel featuring leaders from North and South America * Assessments by RISI economists on market drivers and raw material trends including virgin pulp and recycled fiber * A customer panel to shed light on the views of retailers and buyers 46 Tissue360º 822442_TheArnold.indd 1 SPRING/ SUMMER 2017 * A panel discussion on regulatory and technical issues surrounding bath tissue, flushable wipes and other products * A forum to present the latest academic and institutional research projects One session will deal with water use, with an accompanying water saving panel discussion. Fisher International will provide benchmarking information to summarize the current state of water use in the tissue industry. This will be followed by producer examples of efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle water in their manufacturing operations. Ample time will be provided for questions and audience participation. SHARE YOUR RESEARCH As well, tissue experts from around the world are invited to share their diverse, forward thinking concepts for tissue products, testing, manufacturing, and fundamental research ideas at the inaugural Tissue Research Forum at Tissue 2017. This is the ideal environment to get feedback from industry thought leaders. Participants will have the opportunity for a 5-10 minute presentation on Thursday, Oct. 5, followed by a poster session. Please submit an abstract of your poster topic using TAPPI's Speaker Management System no later than March 15, 2017. Acceptance notifications will be sent by April 1, 2017. If accepted, your poster is due for peer review by August 24, 2017. You must bring you poster with you to the conference and present it in person.
