Accrol Papers, a UK-based tissue converter,
reports a £66 million deal with private equity
firm NorthEdge Capital that could include
a new tissue mill. The project would create
well in access of 100 jobs. One of Europe's
largest independent converters of soft tissue
products, the business has a manufacturing
capacity in excess of 80,000 metric tpy.
Atlas Paper Mills LLC, Miami, Fla., USA,
a tissue-producing portfolio company of
Peak Rock Capital, Austin, Tex., has acquired
Accurate Paper Recycling Inc., Tampa, Fla., a
supplier of paper recycling services.
Cheng Loong Corp., Taipei, Taiwan, has
contracted Voith, Germany, to supply and
install a new tissue machine at its mill in
Chupei, Taiwan. The new machine, TM 16,
will produce high-quality dry crepe toilet
paper and hand towel with a wire width of
3,796 mm and a design speed of 2,200 m/min.
It will start up in September 2015.
First Quality Tissue, Great Neck, N.Y.,
USA, has ordered from Valmet (Finland) a
complete Advantage Thru Air (TAD) tissue
line to be installed at its Anderson, S.C., mill.
The new production line is planned to start
up in the second half of 2015.
Green Bay Converting, Green Bay, Wis.,
USA, will open a plant in Mississippi to make
paper towels and tissue, creating 300 new
jobs. Green Bay Converting will invest
$48 million in the plant, which will convert
tissue base sheets into finished products.
Hayat Kimya, Turkey, has ordered its fifth
Advantage DCT 200 tissue line from Valmet,
Finland. The line will add 70,000 metric tpy
of high quality tissue to Hayat Kimya's current production of facial, toilet and towel tissue. Startup of the new tissue line is planned
Hebei Yihoucheng, China, has successfully started up its Andritz (Graz, Austria)
PrimeLineCOMPACT tissue machine-
the first of its kind in China-with a steel
yankee dryer. The machine has a design speed
of 1,650 m/min and a width of 2.85 meters.
Shandong Sun Paper, China, has successfully started up a new Andritz tissue machine
PrimeLine W8 tissue machine with a steel
yankee dryer at its Yanzhou mill, Shandong
province, China. The machine (PM 27) has a
design speed of 2,000 m/min and a width of
5.62 meters. Startup of a second Andritz tissue machine for Shandong Sun Paper (PM 28)
is scheduled for next year.
Von Drehle Corp., Hickory N.C., USA,
will be the first tissue maker in the United
States to produce tissue with Valmet's flexible Advantage NTT technology. The new
line will be installed at the company's
facility in Natchez, Miss. It will have a
width of 2.6 meters and a design speed of
2,000 m/min. Startup of the new line is
planned for late 2015.
Yuen Foong Yu Corp., China, has ordered
four new PMP (Poland) Intelli-Tissue® 1600
machines. The order comes as part of a company announcement last year that it would
invest more than $260 million in Taiwanese
and Chinese mills. The new 2.8 meter wide
CF tissue machine (PM 7) has an operating
speed of 1,600 m/min and a daily production
capacity of 75 metric tons.
Solenis is the new name for Ashland Water
Technologies, Wilmington, Del., USA. Rooted
in "solutions" and "genesis," the name underscores the company's mission to be at the
source-the genesis-of solutions for its customers. The name change coincides with the
acquisition of Ashland Water Technologies by
a fund managed by private investment firm
Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.
PMT Italia, Italy, and China Paper
Machinery Co. (SinoCPMC), China, have
signed a strategic cooperation agreement
that includes SinoCPMC's participation in
the share capital of PMT Italia as well as
technological and commercial cooperation.

resistant and water resistant packaging.
Oasis Brands, Winchester, Va., USA, is
adding more sheets and more softness to its
FIORA bath tissue rolls, with 350 sheets per
roll, on both FIORA regular bath tissue and
FIORA scented bath tissue.
Green Hygenics (Green Innovations),
Cape Coral, Fla., USA, has promoted its
controller, Sugiarto "Awie" Kardiman, to
CFO. Kardiman brings more than 15 years
of experience as a financial executive in
the U.S. and global paper industry, and has
served as Green Innovations' controller
since 2013. Harmon remains chairman of
the board, and stepping aside as CFO will
further enable him to focus on the board's
fast-growing strategic planning requirements and implementation of various strategic initiatives.
KP Tissue Inc., Toronto, Ont., Canada,
reports that all candidates proposed as directors have been elected to the KPT Board of
Directors by a majority of the votes cast by
shareholders present or represented by proxy
at its recent annual meeting.
