When you combine all of the elements-the store's depth of product assortment, its organic, healthy alternative, its superior online experience,
the education and entertainment, it's
community partnerships-one might
think that Cubelic and Silk Road

could afford to rest on their laurels. But they don't. in the summer of
2014, after working with a Japanese
company on an inspired innovation,
the company launched its brand new
high quality teabag, which was a big
deal for a purveyor of teas that's built
a reputation for its loose teas. and its
customers are loving it.

"it's all about the craftsmanship
for me," she says. "it's a very high
quality teabag that we invested in
considerably to get the research
right and to create something really
unique. We also brought the technology and equipment here to Victoria where we do all of the manufacturing and packaging. The teabags
have been incredibly popular."
This kind of innovation is what one
might expect from a retailer such as
Cubelic, who exemplifies all of the
characteristics of a great business
leader: creativity, dedication, passion
and commitment. But it's her focus
that seems to be her greatest asset
and, indeed, Silk Road's, too. When
asked about her plans for the future,
her answer was simple.
"To continue working and growing the business. i always aim to do
what i do, and to do it really well. it's
about continuing along in that same
way, and seizing the opportunities
that inevitably come along."
