HIGH-EFFICIENT LIGHTING?
BROUGHT TO YOU BY RETAIL COUNCIL OF CANADA AND TORONTO HYDRO
FROM display cases and overhead lighting to outdoor signage, lighting plays an important role in retail and can
account for a significant portion of your electricity bill. However, recent advances in lighting technology can
dramatically lower your energy use while enhancing the look and feel of your store. Toronto Hydro can help you
make the switch to high-efficiency lighting, with programs that pay and expert advice.
Up to $1,500 in free lighting upgrades for
small business

If you operate a small business, Toronto Hydro
can help you become more energy efficient
with up to $1,500 in free lighting upgrades. The
saveONenergy Small Business Lighting program includes a free no-obligation assessment,
free materials and installation and clean up by
a certified contractor. Conversion is quick and
clean and can be done at your convenience. Best
of all, there's absolutely no cost to you.
Move up to LED lighting for a better, brighter look

Thousands of Toronto businesses have already
taken advantage of this program. Many have
used it as an opportunity to upgrade to LED lighting, which delivers the biggest potential energy
savings. LEDs use 75 per cent less electricity than
standard incandescents.
Not-so-small business? Get incentives up to 50% to
upgrade lighting

Toronto Hydro also helps larger businesses
save energy and money with incentives that pay
up to 50 per cent of project costs through the
saveONenergy Retrofit program.
The first step-contact the Toronto Hydro
Energy Experts. They will help you find the
best potential for savings in your business. That
includes looking at ways to upgrade your indoor
and outdoor lighting, garage lighting and potentially, adding occupancy sensors.

If you're a tenant, you qualify too

With permission from the building owner, tenants can also take advantage of this program
to help manage their bill and upgrade their
lighting, free of charge.
Small businesses have an annual demand of
50 kW or less

Not sure whether you qualify as a small business? Check your Toronto Hydro bill. If it shows
usage measured only in kilowatt-hours (kWh),
you are likely eligible. If it shows it in kilowatts
(kW) or kilovolt-amps (kVA), then your business likely uses more than 50 kW a year.
Don't delay-apply during 2014 to qualify

For all programs, it's important that you get
your application in during 2014. The projects
may be completed in 2015, but applications must
be in before December 31, 2014. Don't miss your
opportunity to take advantage of these significant incentives.
More savings beyond lighting

Toronto Hydro also offers incentives for energyefficient upgrades to motors, rooftop air conditioning, refrigeration and more.
Simply contact Toronto Hydro's Energy Experts
and they'll make an appointment to review how
you currently use electricity and point out the
areas where you could cut your electricity costs.

For more information about the ways Toronto Hydro can help you reduce your energy use and operating costs,
contact the Toronto Hydro Energy Experts today through the Business Program Hotline: 416-542-3388. Or, complete
a simple contact form at lightupsavings.com and a Toronto Hydro representative will get in touch with you.
