The groundbreaking convenience-focused concept, launched by Canada's
postal service, could revolutionize the e-commerce industry.

WHEN you're the number one parcel delivery
company in the country, your business strategy
needs to be innovative. Canada Post's new approach to postal services has been turning heads
within the industry: their Richmond Hill Drivethru Parcel Centre in Toronto has been named
the 'Retail Innovation' winner in JC Williams
Group/Ebeltoft's 2016 ranking of most innovative industry concepts.
Its three locations, ranging from 2,000 to 7,000
square-feet, are sleek, clean, modern and open,
and each delivers customer convenience, utilizing automation and self-service technologies to
create simpler and more efficient ways for consumers to conduct their postal business.

Revolutionary concept

J.C Williams Group, in partnership with global
alliance Ebeltoft Group, identified Canada Post's
Drive-thru Parcel Centre as an initiative that
could revolutionize Canadian e-commerce.
Canada Post's first Drive-thru Parcel Centre
opened in Richmond Hill, north of Toronto, in
the fall of 2015. An Edmonton location followed a
year later. Most recently, a downtown Vancouver
Parcel Centre without the drive-thru option, but
with all of the self-serve options of the other two
stores, opened in November of 2016. Elements are
being tested for possible incorporation into Canada Post's network of 6,200-plus stores across the
country, according to Canada Post.
