G Society of Government Meeting P Governme overnme ent Professionals CONNECT TO GOVERNMENT MEETINGS. GOVER EDITOR’S LETTER ...Plug Into Orlando It has been 10 years since SGMP hosted the largest annual gathering of government meeting professionals in Orlando. We are looking forward to making our Society’s return there a successful and memorable one for you. By now, many of you have already noticed the streamlined registration process. All conference attendees—general and exhibiting—now use the same registration platform. Guest tickets are seamlessly available at the time of registration; sponsorship commitments are seamlessly available at the time of registration. The biggest change that every attendee will notice in May is that the Expo moved from its normal Friday slot and will now take place over two days—Wednesday and Thursday. The feedback we have received thus far from our members is overwhelmingly positive. Attendees will also notice the return of an additional track of educational sessions during the conference and of a second general session which will wrap up the festivities on Friday afternoon. We will offer you the most government meetings training available at one time all year. Everything will take place under one roof in Orlando (well, almost everything). Once you arrive at the Rosen Shingle Creek, you can remain “on campus” for the duration of the NEC and attend all conference events. This gorgeous property will serve as host to the welcome reception, all educational and general sessions, the expo hall and two attendee hospitality night opportunities. Befitting the Sunshine State and the bright future of SGMP, this year’s opening reception will be held outdoors. Take a look at the SGMP homepage and click under the picture of the Rosen Shingle Creek. From now through your travel in May, that’s where you will always see the latest and greatest information on our 31st annual education event. See you there… SPRING 2013 • VOLUME 4, ISSUE 3 Published for Society of Government Meeting Professionals 908 King Street Suite 200 Alexandria, VA 22314 703-549-0892 Fax: 703-549-0708 Published by Naylor, LLC 5950 NW First Place Gainesville, FL 32607 800-369-6220 Fax: 352-331-3525 EXECUTIVE EDITOR Rob Bergeron, CAE, CGMP MANAGING EDITOR Kimberly Kowal PUBLISHER John Kilchenstein MANAGING EDITOR Sean Garrity SALES MANAGER Jamy Smith MARKETING Michelle Hunsucker ADVERTISING DIRECTOR Pam Blasetti ADVERTISING SALES Brian Donohoe, Cherie Dubay, Ray Goodwin, Janine Mancuso, Beth Sheahan, Jamie Williams, Matthew Yates, Bryan Zeig LAYOUT AND DESIGN Ranjeet Singh Kalsi For advertising rates, information and media kits, please contact Pam Blasetti at 800-369-6220 ext 3423 or ©Naylor, LLC.
