The National Capital chapter hosted the first CGMP class in the
SGMP headquarters’ new training room in April. Fourteen National
Capital members were in attendance. National Capital President
Quinn Bruster, CGMP, proctored the exam.
The Louisiana chapter received a letter from the Lt. Gov. Jay
Dardenne, thanking them for what they do for government meetings in their state. The letter stated: “In 2012, government meeting
planners and their supplier partners spent more than $14 million
on travel and training in Louisiana’s government agencies. SGMP
members helped drive these numbers and continue to find the most
cost-effective ways of doing business.”
The Pacific Northwest chapter was given the Programming
of the Year award at the 2013 SGMP NEC & Expo in recognition
of their top professional development programming provided to
chapter members this year.
The Sacramento chapter was given the Newsletter of the Year
award at the 2013 NEC & Expo in recognition of their top publication provided to chapter members this year.
The Houston Gulf Coast chapter was given the Chapter
Membership Recognition award at the 2013 SGMP NEC &
Expo in recognition of earning the fiscal year’s highest net
