ZERO TO THREE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
As I have noted within these pages before, it is time for our organization to look forward
and not backward. SGMP’s national leadership team is doing just that.
The National Board of Directors members you elected early this year recently engaged
in a thorough review of our Society as part of a brand-new long-term strategic planning
initiative. Any SGMP member would have been proud to see the unyielding persistence
and the channeled passion demonstrated within the walls of the Headquarters Training
Center over two+ days.
More information will be shared with our members regarding the direction and
priorities that rose to the top during these deliberations. We are confident that you, our
membership, will be very enthused about what you will hear.
In August, your Gilmer Institute of Learning trustees was the next national elected body
to convene at SGMP headquarters to plot the course for the future of our organization.
You, as voting members, also selected these education trustees, whose role is to support
our members and chapters through education and training resources.
The SGMP Member Bill of Rights outlines several very important points. Among them
is one that I personally hold dear: “Leadership is service to others and being true to the
Society’s mission.” The entire national leadership team is looking forward to serving you
during what will surely be an uncertain and challenging fiscal year and beyond.
