Streamline - Fall 2015 - (Page 10)

VRWA's 2015 ExPo held another successful Expo. Attendees from as far as Russell County to Prince William County joined us for a couple days of fun, friends, food and educational classes. This year we set a record with 27 vendors and over 140 attendees. Our training consisted of Temporary Bypass Pump (Godwin Pumps), Subpart B Excavation Standard (HD Supply Waterworks/Roanoke), Economics of Owning Various Style Water Tanks (Southern Corrosion) Valve Insertion & Linestops for Utilities (HD Supply Waterworks/ Roanoke), Va811 How to Make it Work for You (Va811), Virginia Work Zone Safety (Virginia Department of Transportation) and The New Revised Total Coliform Rule (VDH/ODW). Once again attendees were able to participate in the backhoe competition, along with the cornhole contest. New this year was our laser tag competition, which was sponsored by Southern Corrosion. Teams were formed, suited up and when the whistle was blown the action began and the red lights started blinking. It was definitely a fun time held by all who played. Now let's not forget the corn hole as it was set up inside due to weather and it ran constantly. VRWA wants to thank all of our sponsors - those who donated prizes, participated by sponsoring the golf and clay shoot activities, and sponsored the t-shirts. A special thank you to HD Supply Waterworks/Roanoke for once again providing us with a delicious lunch that everyone looks forward to each year. And we send out a big thank you to our "Platinum" Sponsor Southern Corrosion for all they do and for being our laser tag sponsor. vrWa onCe again 10 S T R E A M L I N E * F a l l 2 0 1 5 Pop Top Bottle Winner Tapping Tournament Darrell Largen Roland Bega and William Roach of Albemarle County Golf Tournament Clay Shoot Tournament 1st Place Team - Michael Wertheim, Patryk Paradowski, Brad Brown, Justin Prillaman and Reg Taylor 12 Gauge Trophy - Kevin Belcher Closest to Pin - Reg Taylor Longest Drive - Patryk Paradowski Sub-Gauge Trophy - Scott Foley
