TOP 25 NEUTRALS +
9 DESIGNER 'GO-TO
COLOURS FOR INTERIORS'
whether you're staging your home for
sale or bringing a space up to date for
live or work.
We have a few simple tips & tricks from
the colour experts:
Step 1: Determine the look and overall
styling, consider the furniture, colours
that appeal to you, and accessories
that you are currently working with or
Step 2: Consider the natural lighting
in your space. If your home has low
lighting- stick to lighter tones. Darker/
deeper/saturated tones should be used to
either highlight or add drama to a space or
feature item, for example the front door or
a media wall accent colour.
Step 3: Select a wall colour. Greys really
are the foundation for neutralizing almost
any space. Greys and whites can be warm
or cool, making them the go-to shades for
refreshing a space. Various undertones
of green, blue, brown and lavender/taupe
can been seen in the shades that designers
are selecting. Our "go-to favourites" are
Color Journeys by General Paints: 406D
Vintage Taupe, 406A Quartzite, 409E
Wolfwood, 407A Cheyenne, 408D
Chinchilla and 421A Seaspray.
Step 4: Select a white for key highlights.
Whites are paramount when selecting
shades for ceilings, doors, trim, and even
walls, as it all depends on the desired
look you want to achieve, your lighting
and personal styling: traditional or
contemporary, or somewhere in between.
Our favorite Color Journeys whites are
WH01 White Design, WH02 Studio
White and WH22 Whipped White.
