Foreword - DISBOOK #4 | 2014 foreword The Televisa studios in Mexico are a such a restricted, secret place that there's very little chance that you may ever have access to them. Photographer Stefan Ruiz did. The result is a unique portfolio of behind-the-scenes photos of the studios, known as "The Factory Of Dreams" (page 10). Turkish television channels broadcast about one hundred new drama series a year and more than 50% of them are sold abroad. From the Balkans, the Middle East, the former Soviet Republics, to Germany, Sweden, Lithuania, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and China, they all enjoy Turkish Drama. We spoke with the main players in the industry and asked them about the newest trends. Their answer: more quality and better story lines. (page 35). What about the design on the cover of this issue? It represents the challenge of ending a TV series or a reality show, a fraught endeavor that is as emotionally difficult for actors, contestants and crew as it is for viewers.
