TREASURERS’ ASSOCIATIONS 14th IGTA Meeting Semi-Annual EACT Meeting Geneva – October 2010 For the first time, EACT as well as IGTA members met in Geneva at the beginning of October for two distinct meetings.They were hosted by the Association of Treasurers of Suisse Romande. In fact, the treasury around the world have the same worries. Members EACT and IGTA had to review the major topics that currently keep them busy : the 2nd EACT Survey on Impacts of Financial Crisis on Bank Relationships (detailed results on www.eact.eu) Evolution of IFRS Education : IGTA approved new programs added to the « International Treasurer » syllabus. SEPA : new proposed regulation will be issued before year end and followed by the SEPA Council. Code of Ethics: IGTA supports the initiative of drafting a « Code of Ethics » in order for treasury to show its professionalism, to define its values and to become more attractive. OTC Derivatives regulations : Europe and USA have globally the same position. EACT, AFP and NACT will worked jointly in the next months to better understand the next decisions taken on both sides of Atlantic. Main challenges to be solved for the NACTs in the past year are the decrease of the memberships for some of them, the interest for taxation and still more education. G G G G G G G The IGTA Board elected a new Chairman : Jimmy Doyle from IACT. Next IGTA meeting will be held in New York in Spring 2011. IGTA Team in Geneva 40 http://www.eact.eu
