Coatings E-CARE BY MÄDER : ADVANCED COATING AND COMPOSITE SOLUTIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT MÄDER IS A LEADING COMPANY IN RAILWAY COATINGS FOR BOTH INTERIORS, EXTERIORS AND EQUIPMENTS. MÄDER IS ALSO INVOLVED IN FIRE RESISTANT RESINS AND GELCOATS FOR COMPOSITES (FRP). Pendolino Virgin WCML - Alcan Sungraff antigraffiti clearcoat - SNCF Saint Pierre des Corps FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS, IT HAS BEEN ONE OF THE LEADER IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF WATERBORNE PAINTS FOR RAILWAYS. BESIDE THESE TECHNOLOGIES, WHICH ARE NOW PART OF THE STANDARD ECOLOGICAL SYSTEMS FOR RAILWAYS, MÄDER HAS DEVELOPED SOME OTHER INNOVATIVE SOLUTION FOR THE DESIGN OF ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY TRAINS. THIS LINE OF RESEARCH, CALLED E-CARE, PROVIDES TO CUSTOMERS A WIDE RANGE OF SOLUTIONS INCLUDING NEW KIND OF PAINTS, RESINS AND GELCOAT FOR FRP PARTS, SURFACE TREATMENT PRODUCTS … Range of hybride paints - ECO-PRO Partnership with UV curing clearcoat - SUNGRAF Partnership with EcoPro is a range of paint in which conventional solvents have been removed and replaced by an ecological medium, allowing the paint to be diluted with water. These type of paints, when applied, conform to VOC emission level required by European regulation. This range of topcoats and clearcoat is fully compatible with waterborne undercoats and basecoats. They are as easy to apply as conventional solvent paints ; therefore it is a perfect solution for applicators which still afraid by switching to waterborne topcoats. Very high solid antiballast paint for Class 1 axles - ARKOTE 32 L This product has been qualified for Class 1 axles (EN 13261 standard). It has less than 5% solvent-content so it is perfectly safe for environment at the application stage. During service, this product protects axles from ballast impact without being damaged. Therefore, it will increase the lifetime of the anticorrosion protection of the axles and if no mechanical imperfection is detected by magnetoscopic or ultrasonic control, there will be no need apply corrective paints. This solventless clearcoat is based on UV curing technology. It means that it is immediately cured when exposed to adapted UV light. During application, this clearcoat induces no VOC emission. For curing, no heat is required so the quantity of energy for curing is fully optimised. Then, the behaviour of this clearcoat in service is excellent since it is fully compliant with strongest antigraffiti requirements (G1 for NF F 31-112). As a consequence surfaces are really easy to clean after graffiti attacks but also in normal maintenance. Therefore quantity of cleaning products to be used during train’s lifetime could be fully optimised. Ecological cleaning and degreasing solutions Partnership with Fully recyclable fire resistant composites DITRA AND NUVOPOL E-CARE Taking into account that impact on environment occurs not only at the building stage or in the service life of the train, but also at its end of life, Mäder has developed special products (resins and gelcoats) for manufacturing of FRP parts. This range of products exhibits high fire resistance performances (M2F1 for example) without using halogens nor antimony. This innovative solution allows FRP parts to be fully recyclable with a perfect security in service. Beside the development of ecological coating solutions, Mäder has extended its thinking to all products which are linked to the coating activity (surface preparation, cleaning of equipment, …) with the aim not to create new pollution while implementing ecological coatings. From this project issues an original range of ecological solutions : • Degreasers (205, 220, 221, 226, …) • Cleaners for spaying equipment (220, 226 PAE, ) • Medium for magnetocopic (ES10) or Ultrasonic (Echogel) controls • Antisilicone cleaner (PAE 200) • Cleaners for bonding residues (220, Remobond, Terpor M, AD remover, …) … and so many other applications FOR FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT E-CARE: railwaycontact@mader-group.com or meet us on SIFER Exhibition Issue 15 EURAILmag Business & Technology
