Services MALAGA PROGRAM • MALAGA 1: technical alarms. This network protects all rail installations – stations, car parks, platforms and technical installations along tracks. Localized alarms are installed on escalators, video cameras and cupboards containing fire fighting equipment. These alarm systems are integrated into the central monitoring software. • MALAGA 2: 2001 to mid-2003. Stations are now equipped with computer controlled intelligent safes. A member of staff is only needed to configure the electronic keys. • MALAGA 3: 250 ticket sales points and 200 phone points have intrusion detection equipment. All these alarms will eventually be managed by Internet Protocol (IP). • MALAGA 4: between 2007 and 2010, about 1,500 CCTV cameras will be installed in 51 of Belgium’s busiest stations. Footage will be centralized at a NCR (National Control Room) in Brussels. The three year project will cost an estimated €11 million. CENTRALIZED CCTV As part of MALAGA, existing equipment, installations and systems will be assessed and gradually introduced into the new CCTV video surveillance circuit. Footage sent to the NCR will be recorded and studied by B-Security. This NCR will open in the second half of 2007. Footage will be saved for seven days. To ensure an integrated solution, the NCR will link up with other local and national systems. A contract has been signed with Siemens (integrator) and Stevens, a cabling company. Maintenance work will be carried out EURAILmag Business & Technology Issue 15 http://www.denyfontaine.com http://www.denyfontaine.com
