Asian-Pacific wind energy market:
The highest growth rate worldwide
In 2010 Asia accounted for the largest share of new installations (54,6 %), followed by Europe (27,0 %) and North America (16,7 %). - 18,4 GW of new installations in first half of 2011, 43,9 GW expected for the full year - In 2011, China confirms its role as global wind locomotive with a share of 43%, adding 8 GW - In June 2011, worldwide wind capacity reached 215 GW

he World Wind Energy Report 2010 highlights that in a market that remains very dynamic, Asia was the region that experienced the highest growth rate. Driven by leaders, countries such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan or even Vietnam and Malaysia have performed particularly well with a significant increase in installations or by political and economic initiatives encouraging the development of wind energy. It is with in mind that JEC is organising a conference on the life span of structures during the next JEC Asia trade show, to take place on 26-27-28 June 2012.
