as well. In addition, Angstron periodically

internal standards for chemical purity.

A wide range of product
The company offers six different graphene
products, both oxide and pristine, in
varying thicknesses and dimensions. The
manufacturer also works with companies
and researchers to select the right material,
functionalize it and gain access to critical
process efficiencies. These steps dramatically reduce the risk associated with innovative product development. The graphene
manufacturer has made in-roads with
helping to create next-generation applications for Li-ion batteries and supercapacitors. Angstron’s new class of electrode
material offers the potential to dramatically improve charge/discharge rates by

Ohio aerospace R&D consortium
Angstron also has been selected as one of
seven organizations to participate in a new
Ohio aerospace research and development
consortium that will work to develop and
commercialize new technologies in nanomaterials and carbon fibres for Airbus. The
consortium is the result of an agreement
between Airbus and the National Composite Center headquartered in Kettering,
Ohio.

performance of its airplanes,” says Mathias
Jessrang, Airbus R&T Composite Technology Leader. “The use of new, advanced materials has been an important part of this strategy.
So far, we have acquired a lot of experience
with the composite materials that are currently
available and considered state-of-the-art for our
aircraft production. The next step is for Airbus
to develop and enhance the composite structure

to increase the overall performance of the
composite materials. Exploring the potential of
new technologies like graphene, novel fibre types
or other break-through elements is a key task in
this quest.”
In today’s global economy, every manufacturer is continually looking for ways to

companies, especially those that typically
work with conventional materials, can find
