From land, across the water and into the sky
It all began in a garage where the nucleus of the U.S.
company German Advanced Composites, Inc. was born.
Originally started as a private project, FastForward,
a custom motorcycle based on an air- and oil-cooled,
4-cylinder in-line engine with 1200 cm 3 and 178 hp turned
out, over a period of 9 years, to become a lesson in the
matter of "How to build perfect carbon fibre parts".

n 2011, the implementation of newly
designed body parts raised, once again,
the question of a new technology
which would combine perfect performance, in terms of both surface and
laminate quality, with less investment
in equipment and production costs.
The production of complex and at the
same time weight-optimized structural
components such as the carbon fibre
monocoque of FastForward is nothing
revolutionary in the world of composites.

The proven autoclave technology is
state of the art in the Formula One
and aerospace industries. This process,
which requires heavy investment in the
necessary equipment and effort for the
properly cooled storage of the prepreg
material and the manufacturing process,
was considered for the project together with the vacuum infusion process,
which is common especially in Europe.
Extensive research and tests with both
processes eventually tipped the scales for
the vacuum infusion process, which was
additionally upgraded through the MTI®
(Membrane Tube Infusion) system. This
