Annual Review 2008 - (Page 2) When I sat down to write this letter, I thought about what it means to transition, because, like you, I’m searching for a way to define what is happening in our world and the economy; how it affects our industry, and most of all, how it impacts our clients. Since I’m an engineer by training, I also thought of the Greek letter delta. In mathematics, economics, and physics, it denotes an average change or a constant change, or a constant state of uncertainty. We are in transitional and uncertain times. But I view this as a constant state as well as an exciting time. At Dewberry, we are excited by the opportunity to innovate, work within new constraints or challenges, and find creative ways to guide you through what lies ahead. In this year’s annual review, we’ve highlighted a few ways that we adapted in 2008 to guide our clients through changes in our marketplace. We look forward to meeting these challenges with you, and as always, thank you for the opportunity. Ronald L. Ewing, PE, RLS Chief Executive Officer Jane Sibley Frantz, AICP, CFM, joined Dewberry in 2004 as an emergency management specialist. She continues to work with her colleagues to expand mitigation and emergency management support to state, municipal, and university clients. “I was fortunate that Dewberry allowed me the flexibility to work from home and still contribute to my team, while my husband and I welcomed twins to our family this past year.” 2008 Milestones • We welcomed Donald E.
