Annual Review 2008 - (Page 3) David M. Meis, AIA, joined PSA-Dewberry in 1998 and is an architect and associate in the Dallas office. As a member of several professional organizations including the American Institute of Architects, the Texas Society of Architects, and the Dallas Architecture Forum, David continues his professional development concerning architectural trends at the national, regional, and local levels. “While working at PSADewberry I’ve had the opportunity to exceed my clients’ expectations. I’m proud of the relationships I’ve developed over the past 14 years and the opportunities to develop more as my career advances.” Tom Whipp began his career with Dewberry in the Fairfax office before transferring to Leesburg, Virginia. A project manager, he has extensive experience developing stormwater infrastructure for Loudoun County, Virginia, and has worked on multiple, high-profile land development projects for core clients such as the Loudoun Hospital Center, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and Worldcom. Tom also participated in one of Dewberry’s first project management training programs. “Dewberry was my firm of choice, and it’s been an honor to watch the firm grow into a leader in our industry and be part of that evolution.” Peter Garvey, PE, currently leads the water resources group in Boston. Peter and his team continue to successfully deliver water and wastewater services to new and existing clients. In addition, he leads three major task order contracts with the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, providing services such as mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering. Peter has also been integral to the firm’s recent success securing key transportation projects in Massachusetts. “Dewberry has given me the flexibility to pursue new business opportunities in multiple areas. This has been a fantastic learning experience for me.” After earning her degree, Heather Campbell, PE, joined Dewberry’s Richmond office in 2002. She has since benefitted from the firm’s project management and emerging leaders training, both year-long development programs. Heather performs design and construction administration for complex assignments such as the University of Virginia’s Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center and Hanover County’s Facility Master Plan. “My position has allowed me to work on a wide variety of projects in multiple civil engineering disciplines with the camaraderie of a small office and the resources of a large company. I truly appreciate the opportunities and training that Dewberry continually presents.” Jane, Ron, Dave, Tom, Peter, and Heather enjoy a cup of coffee inside the International House of Pancakes at the Shops at Park Village in Washington, DC. Dewberry developed the surveying, site plan engineering, planning, utility coordination, and construction stake-out for this retail and adjacent housing development for William C. Smith & Co., bringing first-class retail to this under-serviced neighborhood.
