Dewberry, as a part of a joint venture with Clark Construction Group, LLC; the Shirley Contracting Company; Facchina Construction Company, Inc.; and Trumbull Corporation, was awarded Contract C of the Intercounty Connector (ICC), a $513-million, design-build project for the Maryland State Highway Administration. In addition to leading the design for the joint venture, Dewberry is providing comprehensive design services, as well as construction administration and inspections during the construction phase of the project. Modifications to the courthouse included modern security separations between the public, judiciary and detainees, while preserving and restoring historically significant fixtures and finishes. The restoration project for the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Courthouse was presented with a merit award at the American Institute of Architects, Tennessee Chapter’s annual awards gala in Nashville. The jury noted the strong preservation element of the project and the designer’s ability to maintain the feel of the original building. PSA-Dewberry served as the associate justice architect and interior designer on this 270,387square-foot facility.
