A Good Neighbor With a residential community and the local high school surrounding Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s site, sensitivity to nearby neighbors during construction was paramount. With support from the Dewberry engineering team, Jersey Shore won the 2010 “Good Neighbor” award from NJ Biz, fulfilling its mission by: • Developing a site plan, including staging and phasing strategies, to minimize neighborhood impact during construction • Installing screen and noise walls early in the project to shield construction activities and relocated parking and circulation roadways • Creating temporary parking facilities for staff, patients, and visitors to avoid use of street parking in the neighborhood • Creating new tennis courts and a synthetic sport field for Neptune High School in exchange for land used for a new early childhood center and temporary parking 2010 Dimensions ® | Summer | 8
