A Message from
Executive Chairman
Barry K. Dewberry
It's hard to believe it's been five years since I was elected
Executive Chairman of the Board. We've seen a lot of
change in our industry since then, and also at Dewberry.
We celebrated our 60th year in business. We've enjoyed
organic growth in all of our services and introduced new
capabilities to address your pressing and long-term issues,
such as turnkey delivery of projects, resilience, and life
cycle solutions. We've also increased capacity, growing to
50+ offices and more than 2,000 talented employees, with a
substantial new footprint in Florida, Texas, and California.
All the while we've worked on projects of regional and
national impact, we've retained our fundamental belief to
stay a community-based practice, building strong, local
relationships. That focus defines us, just like the collection
of cultural statements I introduced in 2012, which we call
"Dewberry at Work." These values and norms describe our
expectations for each other as Dewberry employees, and
serve as a touchstone to guide all of us. Dewberry at Work
is also a way to make our company durable for the long
haul, describing our company's approach, attitude, and
response toward clients, employees, and future events.
One of the Dewberry at Work behavioral norms is,
"Put the client first. Promote their broader interests."

As I reflect on the past five years, I
am humbled by what our people have
accomplished in such a short period of time. I
remain impressed by how they are driven by
that passion to make their communities more
vibrant, better places to live and work. This is
why we all come to work every day: to have the
opportunity to make a lasting contribution to
our shared society, and for this opportunity we
are forever grateful to our clients.
we really hit the mark practicing this behavior. It's a
chance to highlight projects where we worked together
through complex coordination to develop creative ideas
and solutions.
