For ethanol producers who have been building several ethanol plants a year, finding an ideal site can be a challenge. The soils were good. The drainage was good. The way it laid out on the site in relation to the railroad infrastructure was good. Everything seemed to fall in line.” The $115 million plant, located in east central Indiana, took only 16 months to build—December 2006 to April 2008. The plant sits on a 250-acre site, adjacent to a two-acre wetland development, which serves as drainage mitigation, according to General Manager Dave Hudak.
