Companies will have to be capable of changing feedstocks while maintaining quality standards.” The biggest trend in the industry: with a bachelor’s of science degree. Career: 1990-2000: General manager, QC Plus Pet Product, Battle Creek, MI. 2000–04: Plant manager, Doane Pet Care, Hillburn, NY; Dublin, PA; and Allentown, PA. 2005–07: Production manager, Nutro Pet Product, Victorville, CA. 2007–08: Operations manager, Renewable Energy Group/Western Dubuque Biodiesel, Farley, IA. My personal key to success: “BQ-9000 compliance. Companies must produce at a common standard, if the industry is to be accepted and trusted.” What I predict for the industry in the next three years: “High feedstock prices will thin the number of producers and create opportunities for consolidation.
