Grain Journal - July/August 2008 - (Page 100) Co-Mark Grain Marketing 10 KANSAS COOPERATIVES CREATE A NEW COMPANY TO MERCHANDISE GRAIN Co-Mark Inc., which was formed in 1992 by 10 southern Kansas coopeatives to jointly purchases fertilizer and livestock supplies, in early June formed a new grain marketing venture called CoMark Grain Marketing, LLC (CGM). The new marketing venture will be based at Co-Mark’s headquarters in Cheney, KS and will be comprised of these 10 local cooperatives: • Anthony Farmers Cooperative Association, Anthony, KS. • Cairo Cooperative Equity Exchange, Cairo, KS. • CCGP Inc., Wichita, KS. • Danville Cooperative Association, Danville, KS. • Farmers Cooperative Grain Association, Caldwell, KS. • Farmers Cooperative Grain Association, Conway Springs, KS. • Farmers Cooperative Elevator Association, Garden Plain, KS. • O.K. Cooperative Association and Mercantile, Kiowa, KS. • Two Rivers Consumer Cooperative Association, Arkansas City, KS. • Valley Coop Inc., Winfield, KS. Centralized Grain Division CGM will serve as the grain division for these 10 cooperatives handling all grain merchandising, logistics, and accounting under one federal license. CGM anticipates that nearly 40 million bushels of grain will be marketed each year through the alliance.
