Milling Journal - Q3 2008 - (Page 22) IAOM Seats New Officers Denning, Klaric, Hahlweg take up new roles. During its annual conference and trade show in Orlando, FL, May 13-16, the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) elected three members to officer positions on the board of directors. Royal Denning President Royal Denning, assistant director of operations at Cereal Food Processors, Inc., Mission Woods, KS, became the 104th president of the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) at the association’s 112th annual conference and expo on May 15 in Orlando, FL. IAOM membership Denning has been an active member of IAOM since 1965. He served on the executive committee as treasurer in 2006-07, and as vice president in 2007-08. He has served as chairman of IAOM’s Flour City (1969-70), Intermountain (1998-99) and Ohio Valley (1984-85) districts. He was also an active member of the IAOM Education Committee from 198189; and served on the Food Protection Committee, and its Employee and Environmental Safety Subcommittee from 1990 to 2001. While vice president of IAOM last year, Denning served as president of the International Milling Education Foundation (IMEF), a philanthropic partner of IAOM that funds a variety of educational programs related to the grain milling industry. Milling career. His background in the industry includes appointments at ADM Milling Co., International Multifoods, and Cereal Food Processors’ mills across the United States. He has worked as a quality control chemist, milling engineer, plant superintendent, operations systems analyst and corporate safety director.
