Milling Journal - Q3 2008 - (Page 42) 2nd Quarter Milling Production Wheat flour cwts. lower in second-quarter 2008 than a year earlier Flour milling companies continued the 2008 milling year with a slight increase in the second quarter in the amount of wheat flour produced compar4ed to the first three months of 2008. Second quarter 2008 production of wheat flour was 101,838,000 cwt., 300,000 cwt. higher than second-quarter 2007. Continued strong production in the second quarter indicates that a new annual production record flour could be realized. In 2001, milling companies produced a record total of 404,521,000 cwts. Rye flour milling decreased to 656,000 cwt. in the second quarter compared to 716,000 cwt. in the second quarter of 2007.
