Milling Journal - Q4 2008 - (Page 61) A1800 Robotic Palletizer Columbia/Okura LLC • Vancouver, WA • 360-735-1952 www.columbiaokura.com Columbia/Okura LLC unveiled its A1800 robotic palletizer at the Pack Expo Nov. 9-13 in Chicago, IL. The A1800 is the newest robot in the line of A-series of robotic palletizers from Columbia Machine and Japan's Okura Yusoki. According to Marketing Coordinator Taylor Goode, the A1800 boasts a signficant speed increase from the previous model—the A1600—without an increase in size. "The A1800 not only offers higherspeed palletizing, but a depalletizing solution, as well," says Goode. "It can be easily integrated," he says, "into an existing handling system configuration." The A1800 has a variety of end effectors giving it the ability to palletize mutliple or individual package types. According to Goode, the robotic palletizer's size and speed will impress the users the most. "By going from the A1600 to the A1800, you increase 200 cycles per hour," he says. "The speed capability, along with the product name, keeps this competitive."
