Wind Today - Q4 2008 - (Page 64) News Manufacturing Installations & Expansions — Arkansas—In October, Nordex AG, Chicago, IL, announced plans to open a $100 million wind-turbine manufacturing plant in Jonesboro, AR. The German-based company says the plant will begin production of wind turbine components—with the exception of the tower—in 2010. Polymarin Composites and Wind Water Technology announced in early October the two companies will invest $16 million to renovate the former Levi Strauss plant in Little Rock, AR. The plant, which will manufacture wind blades, will create approximately 830 jobs over the next four years. has chosen Pueblo, CO for a new windturbine manufacturing plant. Vestas says the plant will be the largest turbine-tower plant in the world.
