Wind Today - Q4 2008 - (Page 81) Industry Focus Ziegler Industries Ziegler Industries was founded by Robert Ziegler in 1959 as an industrial contractor for the agriculture industry. The company began specializing in industrial coatings and linings in the power industry as a full-service corrosion prevention company in 1972. Greg Malinski, vice president, says Ziegler Industries is an active member on the Industrial Painting Committee; Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC); and the National Association of Corrosion/Engineers. Wind Industry Industry Ziegler became involved with the wind industry after a major wind turbine manufacturer asked the company to locate a shop inside their manufacturing plant until the project was completed. “We can perform both field and shop work,” says Malinski. “We do field work by sending crews out to wind farms or staging areas.” “We also can set up shop operations inside a customer’s manufacturing or assembly plant,” he adds. Malinski says these shops include blast and paint booths; and staging Industrial Contractor areas for degreasing, masking, demasking, QA/QC, and touch up.
