Brown Convention Center -4 As members and guests of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) travel to Houston, TX for the WINDPOWER 2008 Conference & Exhibition, they will be visiting the fourth most populous city in the United States. According to Fortune Magazine (Sept. 17, 2007 issue), 17 of the 100 Fastest Growing Companies in 2007 were headquartered in the Houston metropolitan area. Dining, recreation, and shopping opportunities reflect the dynamic nature of the city. Dining More than 363 restaurants are listed on the My Houston web site (www.visithoustontexas.com). Visitors can choose from African, Cajun/ Creole, Chinese, Cuban, French, Fusion, Greek, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mediterranean, Mexican, South Photo from Greater Houston Convention American, & Visitors Bureau Southwestern, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisine. Johnson Space Center Just 23 miles south of Houston is the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)/Johnson Space Center where all U.S. astronauts train.
