Wind Today - Q2 2008 - (Page 76) Industry Focus Interstate T ruck Rental One truck. That’s all Bryan Hinsey had when he started Interstate Truck Rental (ITR) in 1998. Now, one decade later, the Irving, TX-based company has more than 50 employees with 13 locations in seven states and a fleet of trucks to accommodate any truck rental need. Industry Wind Industry “We started out in this industry by servicing needs within the insurance claims business,” says Sales and Marketing Manager Wesley Wade. “We were fortunate to rent one truck to a contractor in the wind industry, which led to numerous recommendations,” he continued. According to Wade, participation in AWEA’s WINDPOWER 2007 Conference and Exhibition in Los Angeles led to several key contacts such as James McDonald, project manager from White Construction, and Jeff Henning, CEO of Wind Services, Inc. “As it turned out,” says Wade, “going to AWEA’s conference in LA was a very good decision for Interstate Truck Rental.” Rental Services ITR supplies rental trucks to construction companies, maintenance service T ransportation companies, and safety and inspection crews. ITR offers 4x4s, crew cabs, brush guards, winches, external fuel tanks, or trailer towing supplies. “The ability to allow wind power companies to rent a vehicle for a day, a week, or a month or more, whatever their needs are, at a competitive price, is what distinguishes our company in the wind industry,” says Wade. Wade says ITR supplies work trucks with customer service that includes 24hour roadside assistance and Onstar support. ITR has accounts with various national service companies. Each of the company’s service centers covers an approximately 250-mile radius within more than a dozen major cities. “We are currently located in seven states, however we are not limited to these states,” says Wade. He says ITR has the capability to deliver and service other states with ease outside of the company’s current locations. “We want to continue servicing the wind industry by supplying trucks as needed with complete customer service and competitive pricing,” says Wade.
