Wind Today - Q2 2008 - (Page 77) Industry Focus Dr Shrink, Inc. . Dr. Shrink, Inc. was founded in 1992 by Mike Stenberg as a shrinkwrap systems distributor, providing materials, equipment, and training for industrial shrinkwrap operations. Stenberg, company president, had owned a shrinkwrap installation firm in northern Michigan for seven years prior to starting Dr. Shrink, Inc. When he decided to establish his own shrinkwrap distributorship, says Stenberg, he began working out of his home’s single car garage. Now the company operates from a 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse and has distributors throughout the United States as well as in Turkey, Australia, Ukraine, Norway, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. Industry Wind Industry “We began distributing shrinkwrap to, and training, wind generation equipment manufacturers approximately seven years ago,” says Stenberg. According to Stenberg, Dr. Shrink’s system allows for easy installation of durable transportation and storage covers on almost any size object. He says this makes the wind industry a great market for the company’s shrinkwrap and installation accessories, service, and training. Blade Protection Dr. Shrink now stocks more than 700,000 pounds of shrinkwrap in order to provide quick service to the wind industry. “We stock shrinkwrap up to 40 ft. in width to make application as simple as possible,” says Stenberg. Dr. Shrink’s covers can be ventilated and have zippered access installed so preventive maintenance can be accomplished without removing the shrinkwrap. The company also provides tools to install shrinkwrap as well as specialized training to its customers. “It isn’t difficult to shrinkwrap,” says Stenberg. “We suggest watching the Dr. Shrink ‘Wrap It Up’ video at least twice before shrinkwrapping.” Stenberg says shrinkwrapping is a series of logical steps mixed with common sense. Dr. Shrink also provides technical assistance to its customers. “Dr. Shrink will continue to grow, innovate, and work with the wind industry over the years to make shrinkwrap protection for equipment being transported or stored the industry norm,” says Stenberg. “We have a longterm commitment to wind.” Dr. Shrink 315 Washington St. Manistee, MI 49660 231-723-2685 FAX: 231-723-9586 www.dr-shrink.com kurt@dr-shrink.com Features and Benefits Protects Anything • Shrinkwrap is waterproof and can be sealed around entire units to eliminate weather-related losses.
