CMR Institute
artnering is a key component in
many training initiatives,
especially for companies where
partnering with clients is business as
usual. at sense of partnership has
helped CMR Institute earn the
Industry Partnership award in the 2nd
Annual LTEN Excellence Awards.
CMR earned the award for creating
a certificate program for 40 rising
sales leaders at Valeant, a mid-sized
pharmaceutical company. e
Emerging Leaders Certificate Program
was designed for sales leaders with
management aspirations and a desire
to increase their skill set.
e project began with a thorough
needs analysis aligned with
competencies identified by Valeant.
e needs analysis identified 14
P
essential modules that become selfpaced eLearning in targeted areas like
leadership, communication, workforce
management, relationship building
and task management.
CMR also partnered with Valeant
on application-based coaching
questions to help managers pullthrough learning concepts and
promote behavior change. CMR also
created customizable leader guides to
help facilitate conversations and
validate and reinforce knowledge
gained from the online modules.
e results were impressive, with
100 percent of the emerging leaders
participating in the certificate
program and 98 percent on pace to
complete the program within 12
months. And that's just the beginning.
"Due to the high participation rate
and feedback, the director of sales
learning and development, Jason
Zeman, is now exploring additional
custom learning programs for other
areas of the business," said CMR's
Britney Conrad. "Our most recent
learner survey shows that customerfacing roles find CMR content
positively impacts their ability to
establish credible relationships with
customers, increase their market
share, and meet sales goals. As we
work with Valeant, we'll leverage our
best practices and build upon the
success of the first program to meet
and exceed their learning and
development needs." ■
LEARNING CONTENT:
Impact International
earning begins with a need, of
course, but it's the content that can
really make the difference in
successful initiatives. For its work with
a global leadership program for
Celgene, Impact International has
won the Learning Content award in
the 2nd Annual LTEN Excellence
Awards.
Impact International created the
content for the Celgene Catalyst
global leadership program, a 12month development experience that

has reached more than 60 highpotential directors. e immersive
program included live modules,
virtual elements and an actionlearning project, all helping to build
skills around areas such as effective
leadership, stakeholder management,
executive presence and organizational
knowledge.
"e overarching design needed to
provide participants with both horizontal/peer networking as well as vertical/senior leadership exposure," said
Sarah LePage,
Impact International marketing director.
"roughout
the journey, there were various opportunities to connect and interact with
senior leaders. In particular, the Business Challenge projects provided a
great opportunity for senior leaders to
connect more directly and intimately
with these future leaders." ■
