T

he big elephant in the room.
Could the company you work
for be acquired? Or, will the
same company acquire new drugs to
help drive growth? Will your
company acquire another one? Or,
will it divest a division? If these
thoughts keep you guessing, you
may not be alone.
Disruptive new drugs and
medical devices can be tremendous to advance
patient outcomes. Yet, innovation can be
accompanied by disruptive corporate change.
We're well aware of these industry hallmarks
that can be exhilarating and dynamic. Many of
us have been positively or negatively affected by
such changes. It's "part and parcel" to the life
sciences and healthcare industry.
What's the outlook for these changes? What
are the drivers? Are there lessons we can learn
from these changes? e more we reflect on
these questions, the better we can manage

Many of us are familiar with Jack Welch's
famous advice: Change before you have to.
While we can't always see change coming, we
can certainly learn to spot indicators by
becoming more aware of our environment, and,
as a result, adapt more quickly to change.
