Innovation Lead
Siemens Healthineers
In her two years as education
consultant and innovation lead with
Siemens Healthineers, Heather Swyka
has become one of the group's
strongest mentors for new hires. She's
helped define new models, create new
best practices and presented on
initiatives and strategies at internal
launch events.
"Heather's dedication, combined
with her focus on quality and creative
nature, allows her to push the limits
on many projects, resulting in the best

raising the bar for specialty
representatives in our industry."

Shire SHARP (Sales HAE
Residency Program)
Building confidence, credibility and
clinical fluency can be a challenge,
especially with high-performing
representatives. But Shire's SHARP
(Sales Hereditary Angioedema
Residency Program) took on the task.
Initially targeting high-performing
regional business managers, the
training was extended to a group
including product leads, sales leaders
and marketing professionals.
e two-and-a-half-day program
immersed learners in an environment
that provided a look behind the scenes
at laboratory testing and conversations
with patients. e training program
culminated in a "grand rounds" case
study presentation. Kim Murphy,

Shire learning strategist and
operations lead, led the training,
working with teammates Nick Koris
and Kara Goldman, and Diane Bach
of HealthAnswers Education.
"e field force had been
clamoring for something different and
we knew that getting their attention
and engagement was paramount to
our success," Murphy said. "We knew
that one key speaker wouldn't touch
on the complexities of the patient
interactions and diagnostic path that
occurs. We strove to break Shire out of
the traditional model of training. In
order to truly immerse the field into
the experience, we needed to break
them out of their comfort zones." ■
