Boutique Design - June 2017 - 76
product showroom GREEN FF&E
The art marketplace teamed with
creative agency/production house Ava
Grey to create Sub-Americana. The
collection uses discarded materials
from urban counterculture-
including skateboards and wheels,
spray paint bottles, and vinyl
records-to fashion stand-alone
pieces, as well as wall sculptures.
The hospitality art company's North
Carolina team uses medium-density
fiberboard (MDF) made with recycled
wood fiber and solid white mat board
consisting of 100 percent recycled
fiber to frame its images. Its standard
glass is composed of 40 percent
post-consumer recycled materials.

The Metallics collection includes two looks
derived from rusted steel: Rust Forge and
Rust Oxide. The reclaimed metal's textures
and imperfections are preserved with an
encasement of glass or Varia Ecoresin,
which contains 40 percent pre-consumer
recycled content. The surface can be used
to divide spaces or adorn walls.
4 FIL DOUX TEXTILES
Vinylife-including the PRESTIGE collection
(shown)-is phthalate free and exceeds
200,000-plus double rubs. Backed with 100
percent post-industrial recycled polyester,
the material is enhanced by Pro-Tech, a
new proprietary ink and stain protectant.
The vinyl is produced with a natural enzyme
that reacts to microorganisms found in
biologically active landfills, acting as the
catalyst for the upholstery's decomposition
at the end of its life.
