stages and of various sizes at any given time. Right now, one of the most
pressing projects is the completion of some significant new work in our own
studio in Las Vegas where, after nine years, we are undertaking major enhancements to improve the way our team collaborates.

The world and my life's experiences inform my design concepts at every level.
My sources of inspiration are often more intimate than they are public. And,
while I admire the work of my peers, I never reference their current completed
environments in conceptual imagery presentations, as I believe that work
should be honored and respected in its own right and not ever be included in a
concept deck as something we are seeking to replicate. This is all too often
done, and I used to witness this quite a bit when I was in the development
business earlier in my career.
It's not easy to extrapolate a life-long database of inspiration, emotion,
education and wisdom and capture it on a singular concept presentation. This
is why I believe it's essential that there be an artistic trust between the client
and designer that allows for some things to come to fruition without being
adjudicated. Without granting artistic trust to the designer, the process and
product can become terribly marginalized and over-evaluated to the point
where what's at risk of being delivered is a terrible dilution of an idea that has
lost its soul and spirit and artistic merit.

design legacy of creating authentic and inspired experiences.
There's great complexity to the connection of the old and new in this hotel
that has been rigorously resolved with a dynamic solution that is a spectacular
and provocative addition to the landscape of the neighborhood and of Chicago
hotels. Commanding attention in the arrival lobby is a monumental art installation that fills the hotel's living room with conversation, even when no words
are being spoken.
Meantime, in the Mexican Riviera, the upcoming Four Seasons Resort and
Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas that we're working on is a destinationin-the-making like no other in the Americas. Developed by Irongate and
designed in collaboration with Guerin Glass Architects, it's an entirely new,
1,000-acre private beachfront resort with villas, residences, marina, beach and
golf clubs all on two miles of pristine white sand beaches along the Sea of
Cortes. The design of the property is contemporary and for the spectacular
estate villas, I work with each buyer to customize their property at a level that
is rarely offered with this type of product. A fully curated approach to design is
integrated into every aspect of the resort. Construction is more than halfway
complete and will be precedent-setting as a destination in the world.
There are also four interrelated projects nearing completion in Florida that
are highly confidential but will debut very soon and with great surprise. Our
studio is active with an average of approximately 15 to 20 projects in various
