"The introduction of Alila Hotels & Resorts to the North American market
is a significant milestone in Two Roads' international growth strategy," says
Jamie Sabatier, Two Roads' ceo. "As a brand that is long synonymous with
opening resorts in spectacular, bucket-list destinations, it couldn't be more
fitting that Alila's U.S. debut will be along the iconic Big Sur coastline. This
opening will strengthen the global footprint of Alila and further cement its
position as a luxury leader in the boutique and lifestyle sector."

Alila Hotels & Resorts is headed to California's famed Big Sur. Two Roads
Hospitality unveiled plans to bring its Singapore-based brand to the U.S. this
fall, when it reopens the former Ventana Inn as the Ventana Big Sur.
San Francisco-based interiors firm BraytonHughes Design Studios is
teaming with architecture firm Ray Parks & Associates of Carmel, California,
to transform the oceanfront property, which is closed for the makeover.
"Since the Post family settled in Big Sur at the end of the 19th century, the
area has represented the confluence of ocean, forest, mindfulness and artistry
unparalleled anywhere else in the world," says John Pritzker, co-chairman
of Two Roads Hospitality and founding partner and director of its financial
backer, Geolo Capital. "I couldn't be more excited for the opening of Ventana
Big Sur to once again bring travelers back to this special part of the world."
In addition to 59 refreshed guest rooms, suites and villas, plans for the
property include a full-service Spa Alila, two updated outdoor pools with
a new infinity-edge hot tub and outdoor Japanese hot baths, and a new
concept and expanded ocean-view patio for The Sur House restaurant.
Other additions will include a Social House with three lifestyle spaces
designed for relaxing and connecting; a 7,000-sq.-ft. Ocean Meadow Lawn for
private events; a Glass House Gallery; and a luxury camping experience-
