<24 Love Your Melon
Love Your Melon, a non-profit, cancer-fighting charity,
spread its message and donated 850 hats to children undergoing cancer treatment via a 16-stop bus tour across the
Eastern United States.
To help the charity gain visual awareness on the tour,
print shop Vomela (vomela.com) of St. Paul, Minnesota,
designed and manufactured a bus wrap with Love Your
Melon's logo and social-media outlets, all for free.
The bus was wrapped using donated products from
3M Commercial Graphics: 3M Envision Print Wrap Film
480Cv3, 3M Envision Gloss Wrap Overlaminate 8548G, 3M
Scotchcal Perforated Window Graphic Film IJ8171, and 3M
Scotchcal Optically Clear Overlaminate 8914. Total output
- via the shop's HP Scitex LX800 printer - came to 9870
square feet for both sides, rear, and front of the bus. The
wrap was then installed by United Application Standards
Group (UASG, uasg.org).
"Love Your Melon already has a great brand, so we
worked to make it as dynamic and attention-grabbing as

possible on the bus," said Cheryl Frenette, Vomela. "We're
excited about the results."
The 470-inch wide tour bus covered 5000 miles, and
reached 23 states, 18 cities, nine hospitals, and seven college
campuses. It ended in St. Paul, where Love Your Melon set
up its mobile barber shop and several students and University of St. Thomas community members shaved their heads
for cancer awareness.
Love Your Melon was founded by two students at the
University of St. Thomas - Zachary Quinn and Brian
Keller - as a class project. Now a 501 (C) (3) non-profit, the
organization is dedicated to improving the lives of children
battling cancer through therapeutic treatments. Through
a Buy One, Give One hat program, Quinn and Keller have
donated more than 5000 hats to pediatric hospitals; 1844
hats were sold during the tour.
