/ / / SHOWROOM lighting /2/ /1/ HALO EFFECT Clear, bright illumination is great for task lighting. But the real drama this spring is being generated by fixtures that favor a softer focus. LEDs and other energy-saving light sources glow within recycled glass or extruded geometric shapes. Textured fabric shades take the edge off any harshness. Metallic finishes are warmer—antique brass, brushed nickel or rubbed bronze. But there’s still room for shiny, contemporary lamps and fixtures that show off the gleam of red or white powdercoat. Curved profiles are commanding lots of attention. Although clusters still look fresh, a new wave of larger pendants and chandeliers are switching up lighting design. /3/ / 1 / FDV Group www.leucosusa.com Designed by Massimo Iosa Ghini for the FDV Collection, Aria gets its bubble-like look from a hand-blown Murano glass diffuser illuminated by a dimmable LED hidden in the white metal canopy. / 2 / WAC Lighting www.waclighting.com Sol’s circular organic LED panels rotate up for indirect lighting and tilt down to illuminate surfaces below. A central downlight provides directional lighting. The aluminum chandelier is finished in black nickel without the use of heavy metals or rare-earth metals. / 3 / Vibia Light www.vibialight.com The five different shapes that make up Ameba can be combined to create custom looks. Designed by Peter Sans, this pendant light is available with a white lacquered (shown) or charcoal gray finish. Fixture has top and bottom acrylic diffusers. 44 HOSPITALITYSTYLE.COM / SPRING 2012
