Luxe Pack New York 2013 to be
the biggest show to date with more
exhibitors and an expanded space.

uxe Pack New York will spotlight more packaging suppliers than ever before, with 165 exhibitors participating this year. Showcasing innovative packaging from
around the world, the event, which will be held May 15 to
16, 2013, at The Altman Building and Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street between 6th & 7th Avenues, is
expanding this year to encompass the second floor of the
Metropolitan Pavilion. The additional 8,500-sq.-ft. space,
called The Gallery, will house exhibitors as well as the
Seminar Room. A variety of special exhibits and a comprehensive seminar schedule round out the show.
In addition to a wider range of exhibitors, Luxe Pack
will host several special events: The Luxe Pack Innovation
Forum, which will showcase the newest creations and
innovations from exhibitors, including sustainable products; Toscara presents Luxury Packaging—A Photographic
Journey, created by luxury product specialists Gilles de
Beauchêne and Patrick Paufert; the Mintel Innovation
Showcase, enables attendees to see, touch and test the latest packaging concepts; Material ConneXion Lab, which
showcases Material ConneXion’s global materials library is
renowned for providing access and insight into today’s
most innovative, advanced and sustainable materials; and
the Pratt Institute “Marc Rosen Scholarship and Educa-

Ten high level seminars will also be presented during
the two-day event, including a panel discussion from
Package Design about designing liquor packaging for the
sexes, which will be held Thursday, May 16, at 11:30 a.m.
The discussion will include panelists from the brand
owner, design agency, packaging supplier and the academic arena. Each panelist will also give a presentation
on liquor package designs that speaks to female and modern-male consumers.
Panelists include Altar founder and CEO Jagatjoti
Khalsa, Swerve Inc. partner Peter Johnson, IBC Shell
Packaging CEO and chief creative officer Norman Kay,
and Fashion Institute of Technology at State University of
New York adjunct associate professor Joan Nicosia.
