Saint Agnes Hospital Center
A hospital or other healthcare facility’s sign program must, in
addition to providing wayfinding and information, project an
image of comfort or competence. Founded in Baltimore in 1862
by the Sisters of Charity, Saint Agnes is a 342-bed, full-service
hospital best known for its neurology and pulmonary practices.
This dignified program features interior-corridor graphics
that entail frosted, ½-in.-thick glass panels encased within
stainless-steel fasteners, and a stainless-steel logo and letters.
Fluorescent-tube lighting provides warm backlighting. Exterior
signage comprises glass with applied, routed-acrylic letters
installed over welded-tube frames, backlit by fluorescents, and
installed on a stone-veneer base with aluminum accents.
