Ink for Performance Fabrics
M&r
M&R (www.mrprint.com) recently added the i-Image ST to its
line of imaging systems.The i-Image ST computer-to-screen
system uses the company’s i-Pak water-based UV-blocking ink
and inkjet technology to generate opaque images on emulsion-coated screens, thereby eliminating the need for vacuum
hold-down during exposure. According to M&R, i-Image can
reduce exposure time up to half. The system also removes
film from the stencilmaking process. The i-Image ST system
includes a computer, monitor, and M&R’s RIP software.
Three i-Image ST models are available: i-Image ST 1, with one
printhead and processing speeds up to 150 screens/eight-hour
shift; i-Image ST 2, with two printheads for processing up to
250 screens/shift; and i-Image ST 3, with three industrial for
processing up to 350 screens/shift. All i-Image ST models process image areas up to 20 x 21 in. (510 x 530 mm) and accept
most static and retensionable screen frames in sizes up to 26
x 36 in. (660 x 910 mm).
