News of Members A t the AASECT conference award luncheon, Brent Satterly (Westmont, N.J.) and Don Dyson (Westmont, N.J.) will be awarded the AASECT Schiller Prize for the best workshop proposal. Their workshop is titled Sexual Identities of Lesbians and Gay Men. The Student Presentation Award will go to Lis Maurer (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Debbie Bazarsky. They will be presenting on Trans-Action: Improving Campuses for Transgender and Genderqueer Students. Margaret Goger (Wichita, Kan.) presented on Beyond Survival: Empowering Women to Reclaim Their Positive Sensual Self at the Wichita State University Social Work Power Conference in March. Don Dyson (Westmont, N.J.) was approved by the AASECT board to be the chair of the Professional Education Steering Committee (PESC) for the term July 2008 to July 2010. The PESC chair is a board position. Several AASECT members attended the European Federation of Sexology’s conference in Rome in April. Among them were Beverly Whipple (Voorhees, N.J.), Sandra Leiblum (Piscataway, N.J.), David Schnarch (Evergreen, Colo.), Ruth Morehouse (Evergreen, Colo.), Ronny Shtarkshall (Tel Aviv, Israel), Eusebio Rubio-Aurioles (Col. Del Valle, Mexico), Eli Coleman (Minneapolis, Minn.), LarsGosta Dahlof (Goteborg, Sweden), Irwin Goldstein (San Diego, Ca.), June Reinisch (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and Hani Miletski (Bethesda, Md.). Most of our members presented on various topics. Mitchell Tepper (Atlanta, Ga.) became certified as an AASECT sexuality educator and counselor. Kelly Ace (Wilmington, Del.) and Courtney Boyer (Indianapolis, Ind.) were also certified as AASECT sexuality educators. Michael Krychman (Laguna Beach, Ca.) and Jacqueline Akert (Milwaukee, Wis.) were certified as sexuality counselors. Susan Segal (Washington, D.C.), Ann Van Atta (La Crosse, Wis.), Jan Swanson (Minneapolis, Mich.), Laurie Watson (Raleigh, N.C.), Daniela Wittmann (Ann Arbor, Mich.), and Donna Delone (Chelsea, Mass.) were certified as sex therapists. Shirley Baron (Chicago, Ill.) was certified as an AASECT supervisor.
