Contemporary Sexuality - September 2008 - (Page 14) Reflections on the AASECT meeting continued from page 13 “I found Sex and the City especially effective for those female clients who are very conservative … The show provided lots of sexual information, stimulated and empowered them to discuss sexual matters with their partners.“ — Hani Miletski I found Sex and the City especially effective for those female clients who are very conservative (and would never watch any sexually explicit movies, not even Candida Royale's films). The show provided lots of sexual information, stimulated and empowered them to discuss sexual matters with their partners. Watching Sex and the City proved helpful to those female clients with low sexual desire. By getting “addicted” to the show (as many of them did), they began thinking about sexual matters even when they were not watching the show. Since the brain is our most important sex organ, you know where I’m going with this… And, what’s wrong with enjoying stylish clothes, accessories, and beautiful bodies, and indulging in fantasies of traditional femininity? Hani Miletski, PhD, MSW, is an AASECTcertified diplomate and supervisor who lives in Bethesda, Maryland.
